Senior Associate

Eric McGinnis is a Senior Associate and Financial Planner at DecisionPoint Financial where Eric oversees our Gig Harbor, WA office.  Eric brings over 18 years of employee benefits and financial services experience to the firm.   Eric began his financial services career with a large broker dealer, but he quickly realized that a commission-based, product driven model was not in the best interest of those he managed money for. Eric holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation and is dedicated to providing pure, conflict free, fiduciary investment advice to the 401(k) plan sponsors, retirement plan participants, and wealth management clients that he serves.  Eric knows that if he can help his clients avoid behavioral investment mistakes and capture the true power of the capital markets, then he can help them achieve their financial goals.

Eric earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine in 1995.  He was born and raised in a small coastal town in Maine and he considers himself a loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan.  Swapping one rocky coast for another, Eric now lives with his wife and their three children in Gig Harbor, WA.  In addition to his passion for golf, Eric also has a passion for philanthropy. Eric has worked with several non-profit organizations across the country helping to raise money and bring awareness to their respective missions: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- “CF Hero” (Gig Harbor, WA), Ally’s House (Norman, OK), Warrior Foundation (San Diego, CA), and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Portland, ME).
